Fourth Group of Afghan Refugees in Pakistan to Be Relocated to Germany

The fourth group of Afghan refugees currently residing in Pakistan will soon be relocated to Germany via a special flight. This is part of an ongoing German initiative to evacuate vulnerable Afghan citizens whose lives have been at risk since the Taliban’s return to power.
According to the German newspaper Die Welt, which cited government sources, 14 Afghan refugees arrived in Germany last week. Media sources report that these relocations are part of an organized effort launched by Germany following the collapse of the former Afghan government.
Germany’s Interior Ministry confirmed the continuation of this program and stated that approximately 1,900 Afghan citizens currently in Pakistan are waiting to be transferred to Germany. The ministry stressed that efforts to accelerate the process are ongoing.
While Germany’s three-party coalition government has announced plans to reduce the number of voluntary admissions overall, the urgent need to protect vulnerable Afghans—particularly those who had worked with Western institutions—has prompted the continuation of the relocation program.
These Afghan refugees, many of whom face direct threats from the Taliban regime, social pressures, or risks due to their past affiliations, are seeking safe passage from neighboring countries like Pakistan. The relocation policy is seen as part of the international community’s responsibility to address the consequences of Taliban rule in Afghanistan.
