Naghlu Dam Reaches Full Electricity Production Capacity

Officials from the Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat report that the Naghlu Dam in Kabul province is now operating at 100 percent electricity production capacity following an increase in water levels caused by recent rainfall. According to them, this production boost is the result of the rising water levels and the technical efforts of the dam’s staff.
Based on provided information, a total of 116,000 megawatt-hours of electricity was produced at this dam during the first two months of the current solar year. Officials described this level of production as unprecedented compared to the past 17 years.
The Naghlu Dam is considered one of the most important sources of electricity generation in the country, supplying a significant portion of the electricity needed in Kabul and several neighboring provinces. Increasing production capacity at this dam could play a vital role in improving residents’ access to electricity and reducing power outages.
