Syrian Hizb ut-Tahrir Condemns Assassination of Sheikh Farhan Mansour at Sayyida Zainab Shrine

The Syrian National Hizb ut-Tahrir has condemned the assassination of Sheikh Farhan Mansour, the Friday prayer leader at the Sayyida Zainab shrine, calling the incident part of a series of actions aimed at Syria’s internal peace and national unity. Mahmoud Al-Muwalladi, an official of the party, stated that Sheikh Mansour was attacked by unknown assailants as he was leaving the Sayyida Zainab shrine. He asserted that this act, carried out amid Syria’s current sensitive conditions, aims to destabilize the country. Al-Muwalladi held the ‘Julani regime’ fully responsible for the insecurity and for any potential consequences arising from the public’s reaction, emphasizing that this event could have widespread repercussions. Yesterday, the website Al-Markaziya and several Arab media outlets reported that Sayyid Farhan Mansour, a member of the Shiite scholars’ council and preacher at the Sayyida Zainab shrine, was martyred following a terrorist attack in the Zainabiya area. Meanwhile, the official Syrian news agency, citing a security source affiliated with the Julani regime, announced that an explosion took place in the Zainabiya district on the outskirts of Damascus, and that the Ministry of Interior is investigating and following up on the incident. The Zainabiya area is located south of Damascus, and the Sayyida Zainab shrine is considered one of the significant religious sites for Muslims.
