149 Kilograms of Narcotics Seized in Badakhshan Province

The police commander in Badakhshan province announced the seizure of 149 kilograms of narcotics in the Teshkan district of the province. According to the spokesman of the commander, traffickers had hidden this amount of drugs inside a Suzuki vehicle and intended to transport it to an unknown location.

Ehsanullah Kamgar, spokesman for the Badakhshan police commander, said the individuals were identified and arrested while transporting the narcotics on the road. He added that the operation was conducted following received intelligence information.

Badakhshan, located in the northeastern region of the country, has some routes that, due to the mountainous geographical terrain, are sometimes used by traffickers. However, security officials report ongoing efforts to curb drug trafficking in this province.
