Taliban Official Warns ‘Enemies’ of Afghanistan to Reconsider Their Future Plans

Sheikh Abdul Haq Haqqani, Deputy Minister of Martyrs and Disabled Affairs in the Taliban administration, spoke at a ceremony commemorating the martyrdom anniversary of Ghoy. In his speech, he warned what he called the ‘enemies of Afghanistan’ to reconsider their future and decisions.

He stated that Afghanistan has ‘opened its arms’ and urged the opposition to study the past fifty years of the country’s history and, considering the fate of foreign forces during this period, to make decisions regarding their own status.

These remarks come as the Taliban administration has repeatedly used confrontational language against internal and external critics, referring to its opponents as ‘enemies.’ Observers believe this approach limits the prospects for national dialogue and addressing the country’s political and social crises.

Over the past five decades, Afghanistan has experienced extensive political and military changes, foreign forces’ presence, and regime shifts. This trajectory continues to impact the security, economic, and social conditions of the country’s residents.
