Taliban Authorities Report Seizure of 58 Small Arms in Paktia Province

Taliban officials from the 203 Mansouri Corps have announced the discovery and seizure of a shipment of smuggled weapons in Paktia province. According to the statement, the shipment consisted of 58 small arms and some ammunition that were being brought into the country from Pakistan.

The issued statement noted that the weapons were concealed inside a jeep, which Taliban forces identified in the Khomkni district. They also claimed that two individuals have been arrested in connection with this case.

This incident comes amid rising tensions between the Taliban authorities and Pakistan in recent months. The Taliban’s Ministry of Defense asserts that it is preventing the inflow of weapons and other contraband from Pakistan into Afghanistan.
