Family Dispute in Badakhshan Leaves Two Dead and One Injured

Local Taliban officials in Badakhshan province have reported that a clash between two families in the Tashkan district resulted in two deaths and one injury. The incident took place on the afternoon of Monday, April 24, in the village of Khanqah within the district.

Ahmed Matwakkil, the deputy district governor for Tashkan under the Taliban administration, stated that the dispute began around 4 p.m. He confirmed that the two individuals killed were identified as Timur Shah and Wasiqullah, while the injured person is named Syed Tawfiqullah.

The local official added that the injured individual was transferred to the Doctors Without Borders hospital in Kunduz province for medical treatment. He also mentioned that a suspect has been detained in connection with the incident.

According to the deputy district governor, the cause of the clash was reportedly related to an “honor” issue.
