Karzai Condemns Pakistani Attacks on Kunar, Calls for UN Action

Hamid Karzai, the former president of Afghanistan, has strongly condemned recent Pakistani military attacks on parts of Kunar and Spin Boldak provinces, describing them as actions against civilians and civilian infrastructure. He has called on the United Nations to seriously investigate these attacks and take concrete measures to prevent their recurrence.

Karzai stated that the attack on Kunar province targeted the Asadabad University. According to him and preliminary reports, several civilians were martyred in the incident, and others, including students, were injured.

The former president added that this is not the first instance, noting that schools in the Barikot district have also been targeted in previous attacks which, he said, have deprived children of education.

Karzai labeled these incidents as part of a policy aimed at weakening education and the development process in Afghanistan. He emphasized that attacking educational institutions and civilian areas violates established international principles, and the global community should not remain silent in the face of such actions.
