Ukraine Reports Drone Attack on Russian Oil Refinery in Krasnodar Region

The Ukrainian military has announced that it targeted the Tuapse oil refinery in Russia’s Krasnodar region in a drone attack. According to a statement published on the army’s Telegram channel, the attack caused a fire in one of the refinery’s storage tanks.
The statement did not provide further details about the extent of damage or any casualties. At the same time, images circulated on social media showing a fire at the oil facilities in the port city of Tuapse; however, the authenticity and exact timing of these images have not been independently verified.
The Tuapse refinery, located on the Black Sea coast, is owned by Rosneft, Russia’s largest oil company. Rosneft operates its only refinery in the area in the port city of Tuapse.
Known as Russia’s oldest oil refinery, the facility processes approximately 8.6 million tons of crude oil annually and holds significant economic and strategic importance for Moscow. As of the time of this report, Russian officials have not issued an official response to the claim.
