The incident occurred on the morning of Monday, April 20, in the provincial capital. According to sources, the two individuals were inside a vehicle in Zaranj when they were hit by gunfire. The shots were fired after Taliban forces opened fire on drones flying above the city. The Taliban security command in Nimroz has confirmed the shooting at the unmanned Pakistani aircraft. Sources say these Pakistani drones had been patrolling the province’s airspace since the evening of the previous day. Over the past two months, amid ongoing tensions between the Taliban administration and Pakistan, the frequency of Pakistani drone flights over certain areas of Afghanistan has increased.
