Pakistani Rocket Attack Destroys Central High School in Kunar’s Dangam District

Local sources in Kunar province report that Pakistani rocket attacks on Dangam district have extensively damaged the building of the district’s Central High School. The attacks targeted various parts of Dangam on the evening of Wednesday, 26 Hamal (April 14). According to sources, one of the rockets struck the school compound and building, destroying parts of classrooms and facilities. Officials from the Taliban’s Department of Education in Kunar have also confirmed the occurrence of the attack and the damage to the school. Dangam district, located near the Durand Line, has in recent months become a main area of tension between the Taliban and Pakistan. Local residents say the ongoing clashes have seriously threatened daily life and the education process for children. Nearly two months have passed since the fresh clashes between the Taliban and Pakistan began, during which various parts of Kunar have been subjected to rocket and air attacks. Despite commitments made by both sides in China to refrain from actions that escalate tensions, the attacks continue—raising concerns about the Taliban administration’s inability to secure border areas and protect civilian facilities, especially educational centers.
