Taliban Official Emphasizes Equal Application of Law and Serious Handling of Complaints

Mohammad Khalid Hunfi, Acting Minister of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing Complaints under the Taliban administration, stressed the implementation of Islamic Sharia rulings, ensuring social justice, and strengthening the Taliban’s desired system during a meeting with heads and officials of the ministry in the capital.
He stated that achieving these goals requires collective commitment, coordination, and joint efforts from all officials both in the center and the provinces, emphasizing that no department should neglect these responsibilities.
Hunfi also urged ministry officials to handle people’s complaints “seriously” and to refrain from any discriminatory treatment against individuals under the principles and law. According to him, the law must be applied equally to everyone.
These remarks come amid ongoing criticism in recent years regarding the functioning of Taliban-affiliated institutions, particularly in enforcing social restrictions. Many residents have consistently called for greater transparency, accountability, and justice in dealing with complaints and implementing regulations.
