One Dead and 35 Injured in Migrant Vehicle Accident in Nangarhar

A traffic accident on the ring road in Jalalabad, the capital of Nangarhar province, resulted in the death of one person and injuries to 35 others. The incident involved a vehicle carrying migrants.
The Taliban police command in Nangarhar has confirmed the occurrence of the accident, stating that a technical malfunction of the vehicle was the main cause. However, no further details have been provided about the nature of the technical fault or how vehicle inspections are managed.
The injured have been transported to Nangarhar Provincial Hospital for medical treatment. Health officials say that care for the victims is ongoing.
Aminullah Sharif, the head of public health in Nangarhar, reported that the condition of some of the injured is critical. This incident has once again raised concerns about the safety of vehicles carrying migrants and the oversight of their technical condition on the country’s highways and busy roads.
