Kabul-Jalalabad Highway Closed Due to Landslide Following Heavy Rainfall

The Kabul-Jalalabad highway has been closed due to a landslide caused by heavy rainfall in the Tang-i-Gharo area. This incident has halted vehicle traffic on one of the country’s most important highways.
Drivers and passengers heading to Nangarhar province have been forced to use an alternative route through the Tagab district in Kapisa province. This route is being used temporarily as a substitute.
The Kabul-Jalalabad highway is a key transit route in eastern Afghanistan, connecting Kabul to Nangarhar and the Torkham border crossing. Its closure typically causes difficulties for travelers and the transportation of commercial goods.
So far, no details have been released regarding when the highway will reopen.
