Afghan Ulama Council Chief Urges Muslims to Support Iran Amid Regional Tensions

Mawlawi Habibullah Hussam, head of the Afghan Ulama Council, has called on Muslims to stand with the people and government of the Islamic Republic of Iran during the current circumstances. He described this stance as an “obligatory duty” and emphasized comprehensive support for Iran.

In a message posted on his personal X (formerly Twitter) account, Mawlawi Hussam stated that supporting Iran is an act of worship, jihad, and an example of cooperation in righteousness and piety. He further asserted that this support signifies a declaration of disassociation from “infidels and polytheists.”

The head of Afghanistan’s Ulama Council also urged citizens to remain vigilant and not be influenced by what he described as “sectarian Sunni-Shia divisive propaganda.” According to him, such propaganda serves Zionism and aims to create discord among Muslims.
