UN Secretary-General Warns of Deep Injustice in Climate Crisis Ahead of COP31

Antonio Guterres, the Secretary-General of the United Nations, has warned of the profound injustice of the climate crisis ahead of the 31st UN Climate Change Conference (COP31). He emphasized that this crisis disproportionately harms the countries that have contributed the least to greenhouse gas emissions. Guterres added that, in addition, future generations will bear the cost of the greenhouse gases emitted today and endure their long-term consequences. In his remarks, the UN Secretary-General called for immediate and serious action to combat climate change.
