Taliban Spokesman Denies Media Censorship by Administration

Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesman for the Taliban administration, said the group has no intention of censoring the media and does not consider blocking the publication of material against national interests to be censorship.

He also called on government spokespeople to provide accurate information to the media in a timely manner, in order to prevent the spread of false news.

The remarks come as media outlets and international organizations have repeatedly expressed concern over the Taliban administration’s restrictions on freedom of expression and censorship of news.
