ICC ranks Rashid Khan and Azmatullah Omarzai first in ODI standings

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has said in its latest report that Rashid Khan and Azmatullah Omarzai, two players from Afghanistan’s national cricket team, have once again returned to the top of the official One Day International (ODI) rankings.

According to the table, Rashid Khan, with 714 points, is ranked first among the world’s leading ODI bowlers, a position the body said has been reaffirmed with the release of the new rankings.

In the ODI all-rounders section, Azmatullah Omarzai has also been placed first with 337 points. The rankings were released as Afghanistan’s national team prepares to continue its competitive schedule.

At the same time, the only Test match between Afghanistan and Bangladesh is scheduled to be played on Friday, a fixture considered important for assessing the team’s strength in the Test format and taking place as part of Afghanistan’s busy October programme.

The International Cricket Council regularly updates player rankings in three main categories, including bowlers and all-rounders, based on performances in official matches.
