Maariv Reports Israel May Be on Verge of Military Operation in Region

The Hebrew-language newspaper Maariv has reported that Israel is on the verge of launching a military operation on one of the region’s fronts.

According to the paper, Israeli military assessments indicate that the implementation of an operation is “imminent,” and the army has been ordered to raise its level of preparedness for a range of scenarios.

Maariv said the options under review cover a broad range of fronts, from the Bab al-Mandab Strait and the Gaza Strip to the West Bank, Quneitra in Syria and southern Lebanon.

The paper claimed that the order to increase readiness and the assessments mentioned were issued on the basis of “precise and comprehensive” intelligence available to Israel’s military institutions.
