UN aid office in Afghanistan stresses humanitarian access and women’s role in relief work

Amy Martin, head of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in Afghanistan, has stressed the need for sustained funding, humanitarian access and the meaningful participation of women in aid delivery to people in need.

OCHA said on Sunday, 12 Mizan, on its X account that Martin attended a photo exhibition in the European Parliament last month and spoke about the difficulties of reaching people in need in Afghanistan.

Martin said continued aid delivery to those in need requires sustained funding and humanitarian access. She also said the meaningful participation of women is important in Afghanistan’s humanitarian response.
