Rashid Khan Announces Plans for Cricket Academy and Stadium in Nangarhar

Rashid Khan, Afghanistan’s national cricket team player, says he plans to build a large academy and an international-standard cricket ground in Nangarhar after he finishes his other work, but he did not specify when the project will begin.

He announced the plan at a news conference at the Afghan Besim office in the eastern region, saying that building a ground and academy in his home province is one of his dreams.

At the same event, Rashid Khan also said that Afghanistan’s national team winning the World Cup is his greatest wish, describing it as a great honour for Afghanistan if achieved.

A number of social activists from provinces and districts in the eastern region also attended the meeting and put their questions to him. Afghan Besim officials in the east thanked Rashid Khan for his cooperation with the company and for choosing it as his business partner.

Atalullah Sahil, head of Afghan Besim in the east, said Rashid Khan has been the company’s ambassador for about two to two-and-a-half years. The head of telecommunications and information technology in Nangarhar, the head of the eastern zone of the ATRA office, and the chairman of the cricket board were also present at the meeting.
