Afghan power company, Pamir Energy sign deal to supply electricity to Badakhshan districts

Afghanistan’s power utility, Breshna, and Pamir Energy signed a memorandum of understanding in Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan, to cooperate on supplying electricity to border districts in Badakhshan province.

The General Directorate of State-Owned Companies said the agreement was signed with the aim of paving the way for electricity supply to residents of these districts.

According to the directorate, the two sides also discussed and exchanged views on extending the 110-kilovolt power transmission line to Faizabad, the capital of Badakhshan province, on the sidelines of the signing ceremony. The report did not provide details on the timeline or how the project would be implemented.
