UNDP backs women-led businesses and flood resilience in Baghlan

The United Nations Development Programme in Afghanistan has announced support for women-led businesses and efforts to strengthen flood resilience in Baghlan province, in a move carried out amid widespread restrictions on women’s work and economic activity.

On Tuesday, 7 Mizan, the organisation thanked Japan and the Afghanistan Special Trust Fund on its X page for backing the programme. The statement did not provide further details on the amount of assistance or how the programme will be implemented.

Flooding in parts of Afghanistan has damaged homes, farmland and sources of income, making life more difficult for vulnerable families.
