Saudi warplanes carry out more than 20 airstrikes in Yemen

Saudi warplanes carried out more than 20 airstrikes over the past 24 hours on several provinces of Yemen, including a strike on al-Rawd school in the al-Ta’ziyah district in northwestern Taiz for the third time.

The Saba news agency in Sanaa reported that Saudi aircraft bombed the school again and destroyed the remaining parts of the building. According to the report, the latest attack was described as a continuation of strikes on civilian areas during Saudi air operations.

At the same time, Saba said early today that Saudi Arabia carried out another attack by firing four missiles at the east of the city of Saada in northern Yemen.

Yemen’s armed forces also said on Sunday that Saudi warplanes had carried out 26 airstrikes on several provinces of the country in the past 24 hours. According to the forces, the attacks, launched by F-15 fighter jets from the Khamis Mushait air base, targeted the provinces of Taiz, Al-Jawf, Marib, Dhamar and Saada.

Taiz and Saada are among the provinces that have repeatedly been the scene of fighting and airstrikes in recent years. Khamis Mushait is also considered one of Saudi Arabia’s important military bases near the Yemeni border.
