Yemen says Saudi air and missile strikes reach 1,059

The spokesperson for Yemen’s armed forces has said the total number of Saudi air and missile attacks since the escalation of fighting began has reached 1,059.

According to Al Masirah, Yahya Saree said in a statement on Saturday that 27 air strikes had been carried out over the past 24 hours. He said the attacks were carried out using F-15 and Typhoon fighter jets that had taken off from the military air bases in Khamis Mushait and Taif.

He added that the strikes targeted civilian infrastructure, including bridges, roads and other facilities in the provinces of Taiz, Marib, Saada, Amran, Ibb and Hajjah.

Saree gave the figures as Al Masirah, a media outlet close to Yemen’s Houthis, published his remarks.
