Two Afghan athletes win medals at Asian bodybuilding championships

Two Afghan athletes, Niayab Mubarez and Safiullah Ghafari, have won medals at the 58th Asian Bodybuilding and Fitness Championships in Thailand. In the competition, Niayab Mubarez won the silver medal and Safiullah Ghafari claimed bronze.

At the same time, Niayab Mubarez has also been named Asia’s best bodybuilding athlete for 2026. Along with the silver medal, this is regarded as his most important achievement at the event.

The competition was held under the title of the 58th Asian Bodybuilding and Fitness Championships, with Thailand serving as host. Bodybuilding is one of the sports in which Afghan athletes have also taken part in some regional and Asian competitions in recent years.
