Afghanistan Chamber, Iranian Ambassador in Kabul Call for Expanded Trade Ties
The Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment has said that its Director General, Syed Karim Hashemi, discussed expanding trade and economic cooperation between the two countries in a meeting with Iran’s ambassador in Kabul.
According to a statement released on Thursday, the talks focused on increasing commercial exchanges, developing economic relations and holding the fifth Imam Abu Hanifa National and International Exhibition.
The Chamber of Commerce and Investment said the head of the body stressed the need to raise the volume of trade and provide greater facilities for traders and investors. Meanwhile, the Iranian ambassador assured that Iranian traders and investors would take part in the fifth Imam Abu Hanifa National and International Exhibition.
The statement added that the two sides also discussed expanding exports and imports, developing land and rail transport routes, and improving port services and facilities.
The Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment is one of the country’s private sector bodies that works to advance trade relations with regional countries, and Iran is considered one of Afghanistan’s major trading partners.
