Trump returns early to White House from Camp David

Media outlets have reported that US President Donald Trump cut short his stay at Camp David on Sunday evening and returned to the White House earlier than scheduled.

The White House has so far given no explanation for the sudden return. Under the previous schedule, Trump was due to remain at Camp David until Sunday.

The development comes as the US State Department issued a security alert to American citizens in the region, urging them to remain vigilant and prepare for possible disruption to their travel plans.

At the same time, reports said Houthi forces carried out missile and drone attacks against a sensitive area in Riyadh, the Saudi capital, as well as Aramco facilities in Yanbu.

Earlier, CNN reported that the Trump administration did not intend to take part in strikes against Houthi forces and had limited its cooperation with Saudi Arabia to intelligence sharing.

Camp David is the US presidential retreat in the state of Maryland, where presidents typically spend part of their informal schedule and holidays.
