20 Trade Deals Signed Between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan’s Kashkadarya Region

The Taliban administration said 20 agreements worth $267 million were signed between Afghanistan’s private sector and Uzbekistan’s Kashkadarya region at a business meeting in Kabul.

According to the Taliban-run Ministry of Industry and Commerce, the meeting was held last night and focused on trade relations between the two sides. The ministry did not provide further details on when the agreements would be implemented or how they would be put into practice.

Based on the ministry’s announcement, the meeting was attended by Mawlawi Ahmadullah Zahid, the ministry’s deputy, Muradov, the deputy governor of Kashkadarya, the Uzbek ambassador in Kabul, and a number of private-sector representatives from both sides.

The Taliban-run Ministry of Industry and Commerce says the agreements cover food products, textiles, agriculture, livestock, electrical appliances and furniture.

Kashkadarya is one of Uzbekistan’s provinces in the south of the country and has also been mentioned in a number of recent economic meetings with Afghanistan.
