Israeli Democratic Party Leader Claims Netanyahu May Seek Military Action Against Iran to Stay in Power

Yair Golan, head of Israel’s Democratic Party, stated that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu may be pursuing another military aggression against Iran to maintain his hold on power.

Golan emphasized that Israel has repeatedly engaged in multiple conflicts with Iran, highlighting Netanyahu’s failures in political and security arenas. He also asserted that the Israeli prime minister lacks popular support and the moral legitimacy required to manage such conflicts, warning that the country’s security should not be used as a tool to consolidate his personal power.

Meanwhile, Netanyahu has previously orchestrated several military operations in the region amid his multiple ongoing trials, seemingly to avoid attending court sessions.

At the same time, Israel’s political crisis remains unresolved following recent parliamentary elections, with internal divisions deepening. Neither of the two main blocs secured the 61-seat majority in the 120-seat Knesset. This deadlock has delayed the formation of a new government, leaving Israel on the brink of a prolonged period of political uncertainty.
