Taliban discuss investment opportunities with Kuwaiti company
The Taliban administration has said that Amir Khan Muttaqi, acting foreign minister of the administration, held talks with Mohammed Nasser Al-Sayer, executive vice president of the Kuwaiti trading company Al-Sayer, on the current situation in Afghanistan, as well as security, stability and opportunities for trade and investment.
In a statement, the Taliban-run Foreign Ministry said the meeting emphasized expanding economic and commercial ties, strengthening joint cooperation and facilitating travel between the two sides.
According to the statement, Muttaqi described Afghanistan-Kuwait relations as historic and positive and called for the development of comprehensive ties between the two countries.
Mohammed Nasser Al-Sayer also expressed happiness over his visit to Afghanistan and said he wants to begin trade relations with the country. He said the company plans to export Afghanistan’s dried and fresh fruit to Kuwait and other markets.
Kuwait is a Gulf state, and its ties with Afghanistan in recent years have been focused mainly on diplomatic relations and humanitarian aid.
