Taliban Calls for Documentation of Kabul’s Historic Bala Hissar Site

The Taliban administration has announced that it has launched a process to collect historical accounts, photographs and documented information about Kabul’s Bala Hissar in preparation for a magazine or brochure.

The Taliban’s Ministry of Information and Culture said Sheikh Abdul Rahman Tayybi, acting deputy for arts and culture at the ministry, stressed the need for accurate recording and documentation of the site’s historical background during a visit to Kabul’s Bala Hissar.

According to the ministry, the visit was carried out to review work done at the Bala Hissar site, including preservation efforts and excavations. The Taliban administration did not provide further details on the findings of the review or when the collected documents will be published.

According to the Taliban Ministry of Information and Culture, the aim of the work is to better introduce the historic and cultural site to interested audiences. Kabul’s Bala Hissar is one of the best-known historical sites in the capital and is located in the southeast of Kabul.
