Two Afghan Athletes Win Bronze at Kurash Competition in Tajikistan

Two Afghan athletes won bronze medals in the international Kurash competition in Tajikistan, in the gi-shin-giri category. Rahimullah Najmi and Zabihullah Ehsani represented Afghanistan in the event.

Rahimullah Najmi, competing in the 65-kilogram category, reached the final round after defeating opponents from Iran and Azerbaijan, but lost to a Russian athlete in the final and finished third.

Zabihullah Ehsani also advanced past competitors from South Korea and Iran in the 78-kilogram category, but later lost to an athlete from Tajikistan and claimed the bronze medal.

Kurash is one of the traditional martial arts of the region, and Tajikistan has hosted international competitions in the sport in recent years.
