Taliban administration reacts to killing of Tajik woman on Badakhshan border

The Taliban administration has responded to the killing of a Tajik woman at the Badakhshan border.

The Taliban-run Ministry of Foreign Affairs said, in response to the shooting death of a Tajik woman in the border area between Afghanistan and Tajikistan, that it regretted the incident.

The ministry said a number of “disruptive and opportunistic” people were trying to create disorder in Badakhshan and damage the atmosphere of trust between Afghanistan and Tajikistan.

According to the Taliban administration’s Foreign Ministry, the administration will not allow anyone to use Afghan soil to fuel insecurity.

Badakhshan is one of Afghanistan’s border provinces in the northeast of the country and shares a common border with Tajikistan. The border areas of the province have occasionally witnessed security incidents and sporadic tensions.
