Sources said that one of his main conditions is the full reopening of the Strait of Hormuz to international shipping by Iran. Officials have stated that if Washington can contain Iran’s nuclear program and shipping traffic in the Strait of Hormuz resumes, the likelihood of Trump extending the ceasefire “indefinitely” increases. The Wall Street Journal added that if the Strait of Hormuz fully reopens, the U.S. president is expected to lift the naval blockade against Iran. Trump has also told his aides that Tehran will not be able to resume its nuclear activities during his presidency.
