US Joint Chiefs Chairman Urges Exit Strategy from War with Iran
General Dan Quinn, Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, has warned senior officials in Donald Trump’s administration about the consequences of escalating conflict with Iran and stated that Washington must seek a way to exit the war.
According to a CNN report citing Russia Al-Youm, Quinn emphasized to several senior Trump administration officials that continuing or intensifying military options could backfire and complicate the situation further.
He also noted that solely relying on air power is unlikely to achieve the objectives declared by Donald Trump, the President of the United States.
CNN reported that the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs shared these concerns with officials including John Ratcliffe, Director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), Marco Rubio, Secretary of State, and J.D. Vance, Vice President of the United States, stressing the importance of exploring options for exiting the war.
