Floodbed Clearing Begins in Panjshir to Reduce Flood Risks

The Directorate of Disaster Preparedness in Panjshir province announced the commencement of floodbed clearing work on the Qol Ahangaran floodbed in the village of Anabah, belonging to Anabah district. This initiative aims to reduce potential flood risks and protect local residents.
Mohibullah Jahed, the head of the directorate, stated that the project is being implemented to prevent flood damage, ensure the safety of public facilities, and safeguard the lives and property of citizens. According to him, regular clearing of the floodbed can play a crucial role in controlling seasonal waters and minimizing harm.
According to the provided information, as part of this project, the floodbed will be cleared of sediments and excess materials over a length of 600 meters, a width of 8 meters, and a depth of one meter.
The head of Panjshir’s Disaster Preparedness also added that 114,000 Afghanis from the directorate’s budget have been allocated for this project. Panjshir is one of the country’s mountainous provinces that faces the risk of flash floods in some areas during the rainy season.
