ICRC Provides Cash Aid to 400 Vulnerable Mothers in Mazar-i-Sharif

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) announced that it has distributed cash assistance to 400 vulnerable women who are either pregnant or breastfeeding in Mazar-i-Sharif, the capital of Balkh province. This aid was delivered in cooperation with the Afghan Red Crescent Society.

According to the organization, the goal of this financial support is to enable these mothers to purchase essential food items and other basic living necessities. Officials have stated that this effort is part of humanitarian programs aimed at supporting families in need during challenging economic conditions.

The ICRC emphasized that such assistance can help create relative stability within families facing livelihood difficulties. In recent years, rising poverty and reduced job opportunities in several provinces have increased the need for cash and food aid among vulnerable families.
