White House Official Details 14-Point Iran-US Memorandum to Be Signed in Switzerland

A White House official has revealed that the memorandum of understanding between Iran and the United States has been drafted in 14 articles and is set to be signed in Switzerland. According to the official, the upcoming meeting in the country will play a decisive role in transforming this memorandum into a comprehensive agreement.
The unnamed American official stated that the first article of the memorandum emphasizes the immediate cessation of all military operations on all fronts, including Lebanon. Under this article, the US, Iran, and their allies commit to refraining from any military action against each other.
Another section of the document stresses mutual respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of both countries and non-interference in each other’s internal affairs. Tehran and Washington have also agreed to negotiate a final agreement within 60 days, with the possibility of extension through bilateral understanding.
According to the White House official, Washington has pledged to initiate the process of lifting the maritime blockade on Iran and complete it within a maximum of 30 days. The official added that Iran will engage in consultations, coordinated with the Gulf countries and in dialogue with Oman, regarding the management of passage through the Strait of Hormuz.
The American official further stated that the United States remains committed, in cooperation with its regional partners, to developing a $300 billion plan for Iran’s reconstruction, with the implementation mechanisms to be defined in the final agreement.
Meanwhile, Washington has promised to lift Iranian sanctions according to a specified timeline and within the framework of the final agreement. The White House official also noted that Iran has emphasized it will neither seek nor develop nuclear weapons—a position Tehran has consistently maintained over the years, describing its nuclear program as peaceful.
