Russia Arrests Three Suspects for Plotting Terrorist Attacks Linked to Ukrainian Intelligence

Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) announced the arrest of three individuals accused of collaborating with Ukrainian intelligence and preparing terrorist operations in Tyumen Province, Krasnodar Krai, and the Republic of Adygea. According to the agency, these individuals were identified and detained before they could carry out their plans.

The FSB’s Public Relations Center stated that homemade explosive devices made from flexible materials of foreign origin, as well as incendiary tools, were discovered and seized from the detainees. Russian officials claimed that the suspects intended to carry out sabotage attacks targeting members of the Russian armed forces, a volunteer organization supporting participants in the “special military operation,” as well as transportation infrastructure and energy sector facilities.

According to the Federal Security Service, an examination of the suspects’ mobile phones revealed communication with Ukrainian coordinators and receipt of specific instructions for executing the attacks. The agency added that the planned activities were detected and neutralized at early stages.

The Russian security service has also warned citizens that Ukrainian intelligence agencies are attempting to recruit individuals to conduct sabotage activities. It emphasized that any participation in such operations will be prosecuted and could result in penalties of up to life imprisonment.
