US Official Announces End of Strait of Hormuz Naval Blockade Following Agreement with Iran

A US official has announced that the naval blockade of the Strait of Hormuz will end on Friday after the formal signing of an agreement with the Islamic Republic of Iran. In an interview with CNN, the official stated that the United States military has been ordered to lift the blockade on the same day.

According to the official, the implementation of this decision depends on the finalization and formal signing of the agreement between the two parties. However, the official also noted that conditions might change before Friday.

Meanwhile, in the early hours today, the Secretariat of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council released a statement announcing the finalization of the memorandum of understanding related to the war-ending negotiations between Iran and the United States. The statement said the document was finalized on the evening of June 14 after several months of intensive negotiations and based on the resolution of the Supreme National Security Council.

According to this agreement, war and military operations on all fronts, including Lebanon, will be immediately and permanently halted, and the naval blockade against Iran will be immediately and fully lifted. The official signing of this memorandum of understanding is scheduled for Friday, June 19.

The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s most strategic energy transit routes, and any developments regarding its status have extensive regional and international repercussions.
