Cuba Begins Arming Civilians Amid Trump Threats

The Cuban government has announced that, in response to recent threats from U.S. President Donald Trump, it has initiated the distribution of weapons among civilians and urged citizens to prepare for the possibility of a foreign attack. Cuban media reports indicate that this move coincides with escalating tensions between Havana and Washington.

The newspaper “Final Version” reported that following an increased U.S. military presence near the island, Cuban officials have activated defense readiness plans. According to the report, government agencies and institutions in Havana are reviewing emergency measures, a situation that has also affected the daily lives of the capital’s residents.

Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, Cuba’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, recently accused U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio of attempting to provoke military action against Cuba. He emphasized that his country has never posed a threat to the security of the United States.

These developments come as Donald Trump has repeatedly threatened Cuba with military action over the past months and stated last week that the United States is seeking a political regime change in the country. According to “Final Version,” the recent activity in Cuba is linked to rising tensions around the island and the increased U.S. military presence in the region.
