A Pakistani source told Al Jazeera that Mohsin Naqvi, Pakistan’s Interior Minister, is traveling to Tehran today carrying a message from Islamabad to Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei, Iran’s leader.

According to the Mehr news agency report, this trip is part of ongoing diplomatic movements between Pakistan, the Islamic Republic of Iran, and the United States. Earlier, sources had also announced Naqvi’s planned visit to Tehran.

These sources stated that during this trip, mechanisms for reaching a memorandum of understanding between Washington and Tehran will be discussed. No further details about the content of this message or the specific topics of the talks have been released.
