Daily Distribution of SIM Cards and Internet Services for Returnees at Torkham Camp

Telecommunications officials have announced that SIM cards, calling services, and internet packages have been provided for Afghan migrants returning to the Omari Camp in Torkham. According to them, individuals who have completed the legal procedures and possess the relevant migration form can receive their preferred SIM card.
Based on information provided to Bakhtar News Agency, the Atra company distributes 400 SIM cards daily, while Etisalat provides 300, Afghan Wireless 120, Roshan 150, and Salaam up to 100 SIM cards. These companies also offer special calling and internet packages to the returnees.
Officials added that high-speed internet with a speed of 200 Mbps has been supplied to all active committees in Omari Camp via fiber optic and telecommunications links. Furthermore, several new antennas have been installed to strengthen telecommunications coverage in the area.
Meanwhile, some returning migrants have welcomed these facilities. They say that the distribution of SIM cards has helped them stay in touch with their family and relatives and has made it easier to handle matters related to accommodation and follow-up on administrative migration procedures.
Torkham is one of the major border crossings between Afghanistan and Pakistan that has always witnessed significant movement of migrants. The Omari Camp in this area functions as the registration and processing center for returnees.
