UN Expresses Grave Concern Over Widespread Destruction in Lebanon Amid Israeli Attacks

The United Nations Human Rights Office has expressed serious concern over the extensive destruction in Lebanon following recent Israeli attacks, highlighting that civilians face severe threats. The agency also warned against orders for the forced displacement of residents from certain areas in Lebanon.

According to the office, reports indicate that the attacks on the cities of Tyre and Nabatieh have resulted in casualties among civilians, including women and children. The UN stressed that the protection of civilians and critical infrastructure in Lebanon must be prioritized.

The Human Rights Office added that an immediate de-escalation is urgently needed, and the international community must act to prevent the crisis from escalating further. It emphasized the importance of all parties respecting international humanitarian law.

Earlier, the Israeli military issued a warning asking residents of southern Lebanon to evacuate these areas and move north of the Al-Zahrani River. As a result of the attacks on southern Lebanon, at least 35 people have been killed or injured.
