Netanyahu Announces Israeli Forces Cross Litani River Amid Ongoing Attacks in Lebanon

Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel, has announced that Israeli forces have crossed the Litani River in southern Lebanon. He also confirmed that airstrikes on Beirut and the city of Tyre continue, with military operations targeting Hezbollah-associated locations underway.

According to a report by Israel’s Channel 14 TV citing Netanyahu, Israeli troops have entered areas in southern Lebanon extending up to the Litani River. This river, located in southern Lebanon, has been a flashpoint of tension between Israel and Hezbollah for years.

Previously, Israel’s Defense Minister stated that Tel Aviv aims to control southern Lebanon, demolish certain villages, and advance to the borders of the Litani River. These statements come amid escalating clashes along Lebanon’s southern borders.

Netanyahu added that Beirut was targeted by airstrikes today, and the city of Tyre was hit yesterday. According to him, these attacks aim to reduce what he described as “Hezbollah threats.”

Meanwhile, reports have emerged indicating that at least 35 people have been killed or injured in attacks on Tyre. Additionally, Israeli warplanes targeted a residential building in Beirut, an event that has raised concerns about civilian casualties and the potential widening of the conflict.
