The Kandahar Municipality has announced the commencement of the Minataur road construction project in the city’s 10th district, with a budget of 17 million Afghanis. Simultaneously, the Panjwai highway road project has been completed with an expenditure of 70 million Afghanis.

Officials stated that the Minataur road is one kilometer long and 10.5 meters wide, with essential construction work to be completed soon. This project is funded and implemented by the Kandahar Municipality, which operates under the Taliban administration.

Meanwhile, Syedullah Asim, spokesperson for the Kandahar Municipality, announced the completion of the Panjwai highway road construction and said that the project has been put into operation at a cost of 70 million Afghanis.

Kandahar, as one of the major cities in southern Afghanistan, has experienced increased urban traffic and a growing need to improve transportation infrastructure in recent years. However, citizens have consistently emphasized the necessity of transparent oversight over project quality and public budget spending to ensure such projects are implemented to standard and sustainably.
