UNICEF Highlights Timely Vaccination of Children in Herat

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has announced that a 53-day-old infant named Arsen received his 45-day vaccination at a clinic in the city of Herat. According to the agency, this timely vaccination plays a crucial role in the early protection of children against diseases.

UNICEF emphasizes that the earlier the vaccination process begins in children, the greater their immunity against preventable diseases will be. The agency considers timely vaccination one of the most effective measures to reduce the risk of contagious diseases among children.

According to UNICEF, this program is supported by Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, and aims to provide broader access for children throughout Afghanistan to basic health services.

Health organizations have consistently stressed the importance of families visiting health centers promptly to complete vaccination schedules, ensuring children are covered by preventive services from the earliest days of life.
