Denmark Pledges $5.49 Million in Humanitarian Aid to Afghanistan
The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has announced that Denmark has contributed 35 million Danish kroner, equivalent to 5.49 million US dollars, to the Afghanistan Humanitarian Fund.
OCHA welcomed this financial support, stating that the funds will be allocated to support vulnerable communities across Afghanistan—communities that have faced consecutive humanitarian and economic crises in recent years.
According to the agency, Denmark’s latest aid will facilitate access for needy families to essential humanitarian services and assistance, bolstering efforts to improve their conditions following the crises.
The Afghanistan Humanitarian Fund is one of the United Nations’ key mechanisms for providing and distributing immediate aid during emergencies in the country.
