Breshna and Turkmenistan Discuss 500 kV Power Line to Enhance Energy Cooperation

Under Taliban administration, Breshna Company announced that Mullah Abdul Haq, the company’s Executive Deputy, during his visit to Turkmenistan, held talks with Annageldi Saparov, Turkmenistan’s Minister of Energy, about expanding bilateral cooperation in the electricity sector.

According to the company’s bulletin, both parties reviewed the progress of the 500 kV power transmission line project. The Executive Deputy of Breshna stated that work on this major project is advancing rapidly and is expected to be completed within about one year.

The 500 kV transmission line is considered one of the key regional energy projects aimed at transferring electricity from Turkmenistan to Afghanistan and strengthening the capacity of the national grid in several provinces.

Meanwhile, Turkmenistan officials have pledged to visit Kabul soon bringing new proposals for additional power projects. According to Breshna Company, after agreements and finalization of details, practical work on these projects will commence.
